It is sometimes easy to become overwhelmed by the pain and suffering in our neighborhoods and world. Thank you for being part of this movement of people who are tired of hatred and division and are linking arms with other people who love Jesus to serve their neighbors.
For the past 10 years, Compassion Connect has joyously pursued our mission of uniting churches to serve with the hope of seeing our vision materialize: churches and individuals everywhere choosing unity over division and compassion over complacency.
In celebration of our 10 year anniversary, we are excited to share 10 fun facts from our Annual Report about what you and our community helped achieve in 2018 and the past decade!
1. A Decade of Uniting Churches & Individuals to Serve Their Neighbors
Over the past 10 years we’ve had the privilege to provide avenues for 42,324 passionate volunteers from hundreds of churches to serve 58,662 of their neighbors through free health clinics, anti-trafficking efforts, and more.
2. Launching the Compassion Network to Spread Unity & Compassion Across the USA
In 2018 we launched The Compassion Network, which is a means of inspiring, equipping, and uniting more churches and individuals across the country to serve their communities & put their faith in action! We are focusing on growth in Portland, Phoenix, Tacoma, and Minneapolis in the next two years. We invite you to partner with us on this journey!
3. More People Receiving Compassionate Health Care Through Compassion Clinics
With your support we were able to help churches in three new Oregon communities launch Compassion Clinics in 2018, resulting in hundreds more local people both receiving services, and serving!
4. Empowering Churches, Mobilizing Volunteers, Loving Our Neighbors Together
We had the opportunity to guide 126 churches in rallying 3,144 volunteers to provide 3,373 uninsured and underinsured people with free health services in 2018. The total value of these services plus volunteer hours comes to an exciting $1,108,101 worth of impact!
5. Equipping More Pastors to Unite & Build Relationships
In 2018, 83% of pastors surveyed agreed that working together to host Compassion Clinics allowed them to make meaningful connections with other church leaders.
6. Coming Alongside More Churches to Prevent Trafficking
We continued our partnership with churches in Arizona by helping them serve young women and prevent human trafficking through the launch of their first Adorned In Grace Design Studio. We were able to offer them personal guidance as well as our brand new Adorned In Grace Toolkit that debuted in the fall of 2018!
7. Inspiring Trafficking Prevention Through Youth Mentorship
100% of Adorned In Grace Design Studio participants surveyed in 2018 agreed that “I can trust the adults at the Design Studio.” 73% agreed that “I feel more confident in myself because of coming to the Design Studio.”
8. Upping Anti-Trafficking Efforts in the Puget Sound
In 2018 our amazing volunteer team in Tacoma, WA launched a brand new Adorned In Grace Bridal Shop location to raise funds for their anti-trafficking work in the Puget Sound area! We now have three bridal shop locations that are raising funds and awareness to fight human trafficking.
9. Seeing the Effects of A Decade of Service
Over the past decade our community of supporters and volunteers has helped achieve $10 million dollars worth of impact in local communities!
10. Celebrating 2018 Total Impact!
Last year more than 3,000 volunteers gave 44,934 hours in service to their neighbors. This amazing spirit of volunteerism helped us arrive at our total 2018 impact number of $3.2 million*! To read our full 2018 Annual Report, click here.
