Compassion Tanzania Clinic Mission Trip

With heavy hearts, our Tanzania team has made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming mission trip due to growing Ebola concerns in Central Africa. We ask that you join us in praying for the health and safety of those throughout the region, as well as for the individuals and families who will no longer be able to receive dental care and other services we had hoped to provide during this trip. We also ask for prayer for our team members both in the United States and overseas, that they would trust in God’s plan and timing in the midst of disappointment.

Some may wonder why we’re postponing a medical mission due to illness. Our team shares these concerns. The decision is based on two factors. First, dental care was a significant part of this trip, and providing it in an environment with potential Ebola risk could be harmful. Second, while our medical professionals are confident in their abilities to handle Ebola, most are using vacation time from their US jobs for this trip, which doesn’t accommodate possible quarantines. Given the heightened precautions, even a non-Ebola-related illness with similar symptoms could necessitate quarantine.

We believe our time serving in Tanzania is only just beginning, and we look forward with hope toward rescheduling this trip in the future.
