In the 21st Century, we are seeing wonderful examples of how collaboration is more effective than isolation. We hear words like “synergy” and see news stories about billionaires giving money to other billionaires to be more effective in tackling sickness in the world. The whole open source movement is a call for widespread sharing. Centuries ago, Jesus spoke to his followers about the far reaching implications of unity. He said people will know who we are by the way we treat each other, he prayed for our unity because in our unity the world will see the love of God, and he warned that any house divided against itself cannot stand. The Church in the 21st Century has the calling and the capacity to be the standard of effective collaboration.
