Here, before the first piece of armor is ever worn, before the first drop of blood, sweat, or tears is ever shed. Paul, writing to the Ephesians of our battle “against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms,” he doesn’t end with the armor. He ends here:
“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:18)
