Design Studio

Adorned in Grace Design Studio is an outreach to at-risk teens in our own Portland neighborhoods. It is the desire of Design Studio volunteers to connect with young girls at perhaps the most vulnerable time of their lives to tell and show them that they are incredibly valuable, uniquely created and deeply loved.

Some of the beautiful silk, satin and lace donated to Adorned in Grace are redesigned by young girls with the help of caring seamstresses and mentors.

Through the imaginations, potential and creativity of at-risk teenage girls, these gifts are repurposed into new and original items.

Our mission

The mission of Adorned in Grace Design Studio is to link arms and fabric with others who desire to bring the love of Christ to at-risk teens in low-income neighborhoods and raise awareness in the Pacific Northwest. The Design Studio Outreach seeks to inspire young women and girls to become advocates on behalf of their at-risk sisters and friends for the prevention of child sex trafficking.

Our motivation

As followers of Jesus, his love compels us to use all of the many gifts we have been given, whether in the form of fabric, talent or compassion. By uniting and serving along side others we can most effectively communicate the love of Christ to those who are searching for hope and purpose. Many of the precious young girls in our communities need to hear and know that they are priceless.

Teaching our young people the importance of caring for our creation along with thankfulness for the things we have is a secondary mission for Adorned in Grace Design Studio. Re-creating new fashions out of pre-loved gowns is a practical, sustainable and fun way to communicate these values.
